I think because he doesn't have a lot of people he can trust and he doesn't want to scare anyone he cares about. But he thinks you're brave.

[ They'd done a better job of staying in touch before the end of the world — isn't that how it always goes? — but the schedule had fallen apart a bit after that. Her friend and colleague accidentally summoning ghosts all over town, three goddesses almost devouring the whole world, giant robotic spiders... besides, Anathema lived in Jeopardy, so there was damage to clean up. An occult shop to get back in order. Then, getting things lined up for the winter gala. Apart from ascertaining that they were both alive and well, they hadn't had much time for catching up properly.
Today, though, Anathema intends on fixing that, and so calls Adam up while she's working on dinner. ]

[ It's been an odd couple of months, and he doesn't know if his time here is more or less odd than the week following his birthday. Mostly, it's hard to separate one thing from the other, although he knows they aren't really related.
Despite everything, and his own nature, he's actually been keeping fairly on the down low. Aziraphale and Crowley wanted nothing to do with the three goddesses and the supposed end of the world, so they and Adam had kept to their home through the whole thing. There's only so many near-apocalypses you can deal with within half a year.

Anathema tucks the communicator against her ear while she chops vegetables. A perennial multi-tasker, always keeping herself busy, because why waste time when you could do several things at once??

[Christmas isn't a holiday that Judd naturally celebrates, but over the last few years he's become a regular gift-giver. Which is why Judd's sent Adam via the post two wrapped gifts (both clearly not wrapped by him). The first is a thick visual dictionary on cryptids. The second is a stocking full of dog toys for Dog.

Those are great. Someone brought one of those really big dogs in, but they were still really young. Slobbered all over the place and didn’t manage to make it learn any tricks, but it was really funny watching it trying to catch toys
